Dear Tiger Families:
At Benton Harbor Area Schools, we are committed to fostering a genuine, lifelong love of reading in every student. This March, we are proud to join the nationwide celebration of National Reading Month. This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to connect over the power of a great story at school, in our libraries and at home.
To truly bring this celebration to life, we are seeking volunteers from across our community to serve as guest readers. We invite you to bring your energy and your favorite childhood books to our classrooms to demonstrate the lifelong joy that reading provides.
By sharing your passion, you help pass on a vital legacy to the next generation of thinkers and leaders. Please reach out this week by emailing info@bhas.org to see how you can get involved. Additionally, BHAS continues to advance its literacy mission through strategic collaborations. By engaging with the Benton Harbor Public Library and local community partners, the district integrates classroom learning with broader community resources, providing students and families with seamless access to high-quality literature and literacy-building events.
Together, let’s make this month a transformative chapter for our students.
With gratitude,
Dr. Simone Griffin
Superintendent
